Competition success at Strathearn Eventing

The JumpCross competition at Strathearn Eventing on Sunday 22 July was a great success. The course had been change since the last competition, which meant some new challenges for horse and rider. The 15 fence course incoporated water, banks, drops, and angled rails. The joker fence at the end of the course and close to the collecting ring proved influential for some combinations, adding a costly 40 penalties, when the fence was knocked down.

For many it was their first JumpCross competition, having gained their confidence at a previous training day, they were able to put into practice what they had learnt over a full course.

The weather was dry and warm throughout the day with perfect ground conditions much to everyone’s amazement but with the good draining land the course held up well.

Strathearn’s next training day is 19th August with a new course being built for the 30th September competition.
