JumpCross at Priory Court Farm

Priory Court Farm in Polegate, East Sussex has had a JumpCross course for 4 years, regularly running training days throughout the season.

Having put the steps in last year which proved challenging but fun for our riders, we are forever improving and adding to our course which already includes a water jump, ditch and bank and a variety of other jumps, providing good practise for those wishing to improve their techniques in cross country, as well as building confidence in both horse and rider.

This year, we are building a new water complex and changing the course to add variation.

Training Days, with a qualified, JumpCross accredited instructor provide an opportunity to gain more knowledge of the sport including rules and scoring whilst the ‘Competition Training Days’ we hold enable the rider to combine the above with an optional competition over a section of the course against the clock with rosettes being awarded at the end.

The competition sessions this year were great fun, and we are looking to continue these next season, with individual, team jumping and leagues. Our course is suitable for all from novice horse and riders, who want to have fun, to the top competitors, who are becoming more involved with JumpCross as the sport continues to grow including top event rider Jeanette Brakewell.

We have a great team at Priory Court Farm. Liz Cousens runs the site with daughter Therese teaching on the training days. We also have Laura, Paula, Dave, Claire, Phil and Kelly on hand to help out and photographer Zoe Hobden and ensure all riders, spectators, and horses enjoy the day.

Training sessions run for approximately two hours and are open to all ages and abilities, headed by accredited JumpCross instructors.
