Successful training day at Grange Farm

Another successful training day took place at Grange Farm on Saturday 30th September. Over 20 riders attended including members of the Burghley Pony Club and Fitzwilliam Pony Club. It was a great opportunity to learn more about JumpCross, and get in some practise before the next competition on Saturday 28th October.
Cathy Lammie and Charlotte Dunlop were instructing for the day, passing on their tips on how to ride the JumpCross course successfully. The groups were Group 3 and Intro riders and ranged from nine-years to 60 years! Just proving JumpCross appeals to everyone!

It was nice to see familiar faces coming for training but there were some new faces, having a go for the first time. All finished smiling and pleased with their progress over their two-hour training session.

Here’s what one rider thought to her first JumpCross experience:

“I had a fantastic time on Saturday, it was really, really good (apart from falling off twice!)
Charlotte who was training myself and my friend was absolutely fantastic I couldn't fault her, she didn't give up when it took seven attempts to get my horse over one jump even though I wanted to. I learnt a massive amount about both me and my horse which was exactly what I wanted. My confidence has shot up since Saturday.
The jumps were ideal as I found on several occasions, they come straight down when you knock them and the Christmas tree at the jump before the stream provided a soft landing for me when I fell face down into it!
I can’t wait to come back, the only reservation I have is that the training days aren't run every weekend as I would be there. I felt a real sense of achievement when I completed three jumps in a row, without knocking a single one down at the end of the session!
I give JumpCross 10 out of 10 in every way, fun and educational and I will defiantly be back as soon as possible.
