Eggstra Special JumpCross Event

Press Release

Easter Monday saw Bond JumpCross and Penewin Equestrian Centre join forces for a JumpCross event, where all age ranges and abilities competed.

Since introducing JumpCross in spring 2007, this was their first competition which included a Dressage, Show Jumping and JumpCross phase.

In the build up to the event organisers Tracey Bond and WH Bond and Sons were nervous that the day might not be possible due to high winds and rain, but great effort was put into the running of the event.

Whilst still remaining a true cross-country discipline, JumpCross is great for improving confidence and ability in both horse and rider.

Many riders feel daunted at the prospect of riding across country, with JumpCross, there are fewer dangers that can be associated with jumping fixed fences– but it still requires focus, skill and balance in order to jump the obstacles cleanly and safely.

Tracey Bond said: “The JumpCross event was a huge success, with more than 86 competitors and we are now making this an annual competition.”

The event saw first time competitors as well as seasoned eventers enjoy the day.

Winners:
Class 1 1ft 6in Emily Dinnis on Tawny
Class 2 2ft 3in Hannah Bray on Megatastic
Class 3 2ft 6in Kate Richardson on Summer Lady
Class 4 2ft 9in Tamsyn Hutchins on Pedro

Special prizes went to Nick Franklyn who won Best Veteran and Best Male.

Various JumpCross training days and events will be taking place at Bake Farm throughout the summer. To book your place or for further information please contact Tracey Bond on 01503 240304 or 0800 298 3632 or www.bondjumpcross.com
