Celebrity Charity Day A Huge Success for JumpCross

Even the snow did not dampen spirits at this year’s annual event held at JumpCross headquarters at Grange Farm, Wittering on Easter Monday.

The stars were out in force to coach the riders at the charity training day, with groups headed by Mark and Tanya Kyle, Jeanette Brakewell, Brooke Staples, Julia Crowson and Alberto Guigni.

Riders attending received instruction from the professionals, all of whom have competed in Eventing at three and four star events around the world, representing their country at the highest level.

Those taking part benefited from the advice and guidance given by the celebrity trainers, who passed on their skills and tactics on how to approach the sport of JumpCross.

Great emphasis was put on the style and approach to the JumpCross fences, whilst highlighting the focus, skill and balance that is required to jump the obstacles cleanly and most importantly safely.

Jeanette Brakewell is one of Britain’s top event riders and a longstanding member of the British Eventing Team, she is also a JumpCross instructor and a fan of the sport.

Jeanette said: "JumpCross is great for all riders especially the younger ones. Parents feel happier knowing that their children are jumping over knock down fences.

“Safety is always at the forefront of JumpCross, and I am delighted to be involved in such a great event."

The training day was a huge success and raised money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance. It is the Air Ambulances job to get patients to hospital within the “Golden Hour”, greatly increasing patients’ chances of making a full recovery.

Riders who attended, left feeling enthusiastic and keen to return.

Julie Mulhurn said: “My 12-year-old daughter Annya thoroughly enjoyed her lesson with Alberto Guigni, it was by far the best most positive enjoyable riding experience she has encountered in the last two years!”
