Celebrity training day at Grange Farm Report 11rd November 2006
The cool, breezy weather seemed to add to the excitement for some horses and riders but most settled down once the hard work began! Each trainer passed on valuable tips and advice to their riders on how to tackle various fences on the JumpCross course as well as tips on improving their riding position.
It was great to see some new faces trying out JumpCross for the first time and many regulars coming back for training from these top riders including two of our accredited JumpCross instructors; Vicky Boyce and Cathy Lammie. I am sure they will be passing on some of the advice when they are teaching at JumpCross next time. The course at Grange Farm, ground conditions permitting, will be open over the winter. If you want to organise a training session with a few friends or want some one-to-one instruction over the JumpCross course please contact us on 01780 782356.
Some of the feedback we’ve had after the training day……….. “Many thanks to all the organisers yesterday, this was the first time I had tried JumpCross and I had a super time”. Susan Durman, Cambridgeshire "The JumpCross International Training day was great fun. I needed to get my horse used to the atmosphere of being outside in a potentially exciting situation with lots of other horses, but in a safe environment. Julian Trevor-roper had his hands full with several very excited horses, but made the session fun, informative and we all came away with many tips and strategies of how to cope in our individual situations. Shame the season has now finished!" Cathy Lammie, Rutland “What a great opportunity to have training from an Olympic event rider. Jeanette was very helpful and approachable giving advice on how to approach each fence and at what speed. She was more than willing to answer any questions and only moving onto the next fence when all the riders in the group were happy. “I can’t believe it’s the end of the JumpCross season! “Also, thanks to Pat’s Pantry who were the last to leave, so we could have a burger and a hot drink after we had finished riding!” Helen Gipson, Cambridgeshire “Just a quick email to say how thrilled me and my friends were at attending your training day with Jeanette Brakewell on the 11th November. Everyone in the group was so nice and friendly. It was really refreshing to spend 2hrs with like minded individuals, who were giving encouragement to all along the way. Jeanette was brilliant, even though she made us all work really hard, it puts into perspective how hard she must train to be at the top of her game. I was absolutely exhausted when I got home but had the biggest grin as I know that I had made the most of the day - and was so proud of myself. Once again thank you so much, and look forward to attending another training day at Grange Farm soon”. Jenny Sims, Nottinghamshire Back to Top> |
