Priory Court Farm, Polegate held another of their popular JumpCross Competition training days on the 25 August 2007.

Training Days, with a qualified, JumpCross accredited instructor provide an opportunity to gain more knowledge of the sport including rules and scoring whilst the ‘Competition Training Days’ enable the rider to combine the above with an optional competition over a section of the course against the clock with rosettes being awarded at the end.

The Competition /Training Day was very successful and good fun with both the weather and ground conditions again being ideal. They all managed to negoatiate the course successfully which included trying the two new jumps around a different section of the course and everyone had a really good time.

The site at Priory Court Farm in Polegate, like many other JumpCross courses is designed to provide horse & rider with the experience of cross country without having to worry about the dangers surrounding solid fences making it safer for horse and rider. The courses are designed to challenge all levels and abilities from the seasoned competitor to the novice or nervous rider and combine the thrill of cross-country whilst demanding the skill and accuracy of show-jumping and give confidence to both horse and rider. The course is especially useful for young horses enabling them to have some experience at a height they feel comfortable at without the danger of overfacing them. Each fence is adjustable and the rider can be sure they can attempt each fence at the appropriate height until both horse and rider are confidently jumping each obstacle in a safe and accurate way.

Work has finally started on construction of the new steps that are to be incorporated into the course having been delayed due to the abnormal weather conditions this year. This will add more interest to the course along with the other two jumps that were constructed earlier in the year making it more challenging for the experienced riders and giving the chance for those who are new to JumpCross a chance learn more skills in negotiating different fences.
