Great Support for JumpCross
Press release
Splendid sunshine and great ground conditions paved the way for the recent JumpCross training day at Wester Coillemore Farm near Invergordon in Scotland.
Both regular JumpCross attendants and first timers turned out in force to take part in the day, with a wide range of expertise and a variety of ages tackling the course, some for the first time.
Organiser Elaine Maclellan said: “For the riders who had never tried JumpCross before they were slightly nervous to begin with, but returned elated when they had completed the course successfully and totally enjoyed the experience.”
The day started with handy hints and training from JumpCross instructors and then the competitors took part in a mini challenge over the JumpCross course.
The course near Invergordon, like all JumpCross courses, is specifically designed to provide horse and rider with the experience of jumping cross-country without having to worry about the dangers surrounding jumping solid fences – yet the knock down fences still command balance, skill and respect to jump them cleanly.
With the wide variety of fences and challenges JumpCross has to offer, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Elaine Maclellan of Coillemore Farm said: “From the youngest of jockeys on the smallest of ponies to slightly older riders returning to equestrianism, all shared the enjoyment and exhilaration that is on offer from JumpCross.
“For some it was a triumph that their mounts were gently persuaded to wet their hooves in the water jumps, and for others they are well on their way preparing for the forthcoming competition.”
