£5,000 Prize Fund For New JumpCross Eventer’s Challenge

A NEW competition to the summer calendar – the JumpCross Eventer’s Challenge - has been welcomed by leading event riders.

Thanks to sponsorship from Lincoln, well known for their range of horse, health and leather care products, this exciting new fixture has a £5,000 prize fund on offer. From the Battles stable, the Lincoln brand remains a firm favourite with both top competition and leisure riders.

Many of the major stars of the eventing world, including Ollie Townend, Jeanette Breakwell, and Mark and Tanya Kyle are set to converge on JumpCross headquarters at Grange Farm, Wittering near Peterborough on Tuesday, June 23 to take part in this innovative new event.

Organisers are set to attract 50 of the top event riders from around the country to take part as well as some of the major names from the world of showjumping.

With a £2,500 first prize riders have given their full backing to the new event which is expected to see competitors bring out both very experienced horses and those on the way up.

Riders will take part in a two round competition over a course of fences ranging from 3ft 6in to 3ft 9in on cross country type terrain.

Explained Jeanette Breakwell: “JumpCross is a unique sport run across country with knock down fences. Each round will be timed and penalties added for knock-downs and refusals. At the end of the course there is also a joker fence which gives you a chance to reduce your score.

“Everyone is really looking forward to this new competition, JumpCross is an exciting sport and requires careful, skilled riding. With a total of £5,000 to win and a host of extra prizes it looks set to be a great day.”
