JumpCross Competition Results and Report 27th March 2010

Saturday 27th March saw the welcome return of JumpCross at Grange Farm with the first competition of the year welcoming a mixture of new and returning competitors.

The new feature “Chance’s Crossing” provided a challenge for all three groups with a double of fences sited before the decline to the stream and a single rail located at the top of the incline out. Two joker options at the end of the course provided riders with the opportunity to claim back penalties that may have been picked up during their round.

Full use of the Joker fences was made by Annya Mulhern and KD who cleared both to claim 1st place on their first run across country of the year. Not far behind were Rachel Dyke and Mirror Man in 2nd. First time and youngest competitor at 10 years old, Emily Grace riding Milford Hallmark claimed 3rd place.

A clear round of jumping and the joker bonus of a 80 penalty reduction proved invaluable in Group 3 as Sally Wagstaff and Gulliver kept up their high standards to take 1st place. Danielle Jackson riding for Natasha van Uden on Monty of Curraghgraigue and Sarah Wynn riding Storm Child also claimed their joker bonus but a rail down was the difference for Danielle who claimed 2nd place and a slower time left Sarah to fill 3rd place.

Sally & Gulliver made it a double with a win in Group 2 ahead of Sarah & Storm Child in 2nd. Jo Roberts and Mixed Blessing completed the top 3 in 3rd.

All competitors finishing in the top 10 in each section will be awarded points towards the Grange Farm JumpCross League. This league runs through all competitions during 2010 with final placings and prizes awarded that the final competition of the year in October.
