JUMPCROSS AT GRANGE FARM, WITTERING SATURDAY 25TH APRIL 2009

Over 90 horse & rider combinations arrived at Grange Farm, Wittering on Saturday 25th April to be met by another changed course. This time, there were two opportunities to reduce penalty seconds, with the inclusion of a second joker fence in the middle section of the course.

Natasha van Uden and Monty, who were competing in their first competition as individuals scooped first prize in the Intro section with a speedy and clear round including taking on two jokers successfully. Abbie Swingler partnering Sebastian claimed second ahead of experienced JumpCross campaigners, Lauren Dolby and Red in third.

In the Intro team section, the Wittering Harriers went one better than the last competition. This time taking the first prize ahead of the Woodland Pytchley Foxes.

Great friends, Cassie Rigby and Charlotte Taylor secured the top places in the Junior Group 3 section with Cassie and Bree taking first place ahead of Charlotte and Mossbrook Milly in second. Rachel Dyke in her first JumpCross competition with Biscuit was third.

A competitive Senior Group three section saw Sally Wagstaff with Gulliver jump a fluid clear round and clear a joker to reduce her total to secure a good win over Jordan Keal riding Rosanne, who she has only owned for one week. Charlotte Pell and Bobby’s Girl finished in third place.

The Group 3 team section saw the successful return to JumpCross in 2009 of the Fitzwilliam Pony Club who claimed first prize with the Fitzwilliam Flyers and second with the Fitzwilliam Fillies. Woodland Pytchley Hounds secured third – no doubt they will be back to try to reverse the placings next time.

A head-to-head battle took place in Junior Group 2 with Ella Garfoot riding Emoe pipping Natasha van Uden and Monty into second place.

Sally Wagstaff and Gulliver attempted to make it a double win in the Senior Group 2 but had to settle for second place this time. Amy Meadows and Red, made it a successful re-appearance at JumpCross jumping both jokers successfully to claim first place. Jo Roberts and Mixed Blessing kept up their league points total with a third place.
